Hello, Sumner County! Here’s your scoop on the upcoming week’s weather—because knowing when to grab your sunscreen or your umbrella is half the battle, right?
Sunny Start (Weekend to Monday): First, let’s bask in the calm while it lasts. This weekend and Monday are shaping up to be nothing short of delightful. Highs in the 70s today and tomorrow will make for some perfect spring days. By Monday, we’re dialing things up into the 80s, just flirting with summer vibes. Time to soak it in, take a leisurely stroll, or finally tackle that yard work you've been avoiding!
Tuesday Through Thursday (Enter Thunderstorms): But hold onto your hats, because starting Tuesday, the weather takes a turn. We’ve got a northern front thinking about crashing our party. Its exact travel plans are still up in the air (literally), but if it decides to swing by, those of us closer to the Tennessee-Kentucky border could see some stronger storms.
This front will dawdle to our north on Wednesday, keeping the thunderstorm chances alive and well. And Thursday? That’s when things might get spicy. A cold front will sweep through, mainly over the western areas near the Tennessee River. While the risk of severe storms remains low overall, I’ll be monitoring for any unwelcome surprises—because no one likes a cranky cloud ruining their plans.
Thunderstorm Potential: Areas farther west, like the Lower Ohio Valley and Ozarks, are more likely to see stronger thunderstorms with moderate to strong instability on Tuesday. For us here in Sumner County? We’re on the edge of the action, which might mean just a few thunderstorms trying to show off.

Rainfall Rundown: When all is said and done, total rainfall this week looks to be modest—around an inch or less. The wettest areas will likely be near the Tennessee River. For us, it may finally be time to consider dusting off those sprinklers, especially with the 8-14 day outlook pointing to above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation.

Summer-Like Temps Sneak In: Speaking of summer… While Monday through Thursday may include some storm dodging, they’ll also feature afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. It’s borderline summer-ish out there! Maybe even iced-coffee-in-the-morning kind of warm.
What to Watch Out For: Keep an eye out for updates this week as NWS fine-tune the forecast. Timing and locations for any potential strong storms could shift, and I want you to stay ahead of the weather’s mood swings.

So there you have it, your week at a glance. Enjoy the sunshine while it’s here, brace for a few storms, and remember to water your plants—they’ll thank you later!
