First things first… take a breath.
I know as soon as people start hearing “storms this weekend” and especially “Monday,” anxiety can start creeping in. That’s completely normal. You’re not alone in that.
Let’s walk through this together… no hype, no scary headlines… just what we actually know right now.
The Calm Before the Change:
Right now? It’s honestly beautiful out there.
Low to mid 80s, comfortable air, sunshine… this is the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up and save for August.
Enjoy it. Seriously. Open the windows. Get outside. Touch some grass like the kids say.
Because things do start to shift as we head into the weekend.

Friday… Not a Washout:
Friday is our first step back into an active pattern.
The good news… most of the day looks just fine.
Rain and storms are more likely later in the evening and into the overnight. And even then, we’re not looking at anything major.
A few storms could bring some gusty winds or small hail, but this is a low-end setup.
No signs right now pointing to anything tornadic.
Also… some models are showing these storms losing energy before they even get here. That’s something we like to see.
Saturday and Sunday… Not Ruined:
I know a lot of you have plans this weekend. Proms going on, Farmer's markets, Crafts Fairs and more!
Right now, it does not look like a washout.
There could be some leftover showers, especially if things move slower, but there’s also a real chance we get lucky and stay mostly dry for good chunks of both days.
So don’t cancel anything.
Just do the adult thing we all hate… have a backup plan.

Now… Let’s Talk About Monday:
This is the part everyone is seeing online.
Yes… Monday is being watched.
Yes… there is a 15 percent severe weather risk already highlighted.
And yes… the setup could support all hazards.
But here’s the part that matters most…
It is still several days away.
Timing is not locked in. Exact threats are not locked in. And the setup can still change… a lot.
There are even questions right now about how storms before us could impact what happens here. So, if your brain is already jumping to worst case scenarios… pull it back in.
We’re not there.
For Those with Storm Anxiety:
I want to say this directly to you.
Be very careful what you’re consuming on social media right now.
This is the exact point in the forecast timeline where hype starts showing up. Big colors, scary words, people chasing clicks.
That stuff does more harm than good… especially if you already get anxious with storms.
Stick with people who explain, not scare.

And yeah… I’ve got you too.

What You Can Do Right Now?
Nothing crazy. No panic prep.
Just simple stuff.
Know where you’d go if a warning is issued. Make sure your phone alerts are on. Have a way to get warnings at night.
That’s it.
We’ll get more detailed as we get closer. That’s when the real planning happens.
The Good News:
We need rain. Badly.
And this pattern is finally bringing it.
Over the next week, we’re looking at around 1 to 2 inches of rain, which will help chip away at the drought.
So yeah… not all bad.
I know this post is long and very detailed. I want to give you guys ALL the facts.
Quick Summary:
Friday is low-end
Saturday and Sunday are still workable
Monday is the one to watch, but it is NOT time to worry
We take this one step at a time.
I’ll be posting updates over the next several days… including simple ways to prepare without stress.
We’re in this together.
